Meet the Visionary Behind Duttifoot ‘N Mavis

Lisa Anglin

Founder, Creator, Cultural Storyteller.

Lisa Anglin is the creative force behind Duttifoot ‘N Mavis, a Caribbean lifestyle brand born out of love for her heritage, humor, and holistic living. Proudly rooted in her Jamaican identity, Lisa built the brand as a living tribute to the culture that raised her, the proverbs, the storytelling, the food, the resilience, and the everyday characters that make the island unforgettable. But Duttifoot ‘N Mavis is more than a brand….. it’s a mission.

After years of balancing professional life in the U.S. with a deep connection to her roots, Lisa realized there was a need to preserve and amplify Caribbean voices in fresh, relatable ways. She wanted to bridge generations and geographies, to give younger audiences playful, meaningful access to their culture while offering nostalgic touchpoints for those who grew up with it.

From launching “From Island to Plate with Duttifoot, an educational wellness book, to developing vibrant product lines like Salt & Shade and Island Living by Duttifoot, (coming soon) Lisa's vision is consistent: to create culturally rich products that spark joy, invite learning, and continue to build pride.

Lisa’s characters Duttifoot and Mavis serve as lovable, exaggerated reflections of island life, designed to make people laugh, think, and reconnect. Through them, Lisa champions education, empowerment, and entrepreneurship, creating a universe where Caribbean stories are not just told, they’re honored, shared, and celebrated.

Why I Started Duttifoot ‘N Mavis:

"I created this brand because I wanted us to see ourselves, loud, proud, funny, rooted, and wise. Our culture deserves to shine in every form, from books and T-shirts to classroom walls and stage plays."
